Oscar Marion, "Swamp Fox II" and Slave Patriot, served as Assistant to the infamous Brigadier General Francis Marion of South Carolina known as the "Swamp Fox" throughout the entire 7-year American Revolutionary War of Independence in the Southern Campaign.
Over 230 years later, we celebrate both our nation's first African American President and Oscar Marion, the first African American Patriot of the American Revolutionary War to be honored at the Arlington National Cemetery.
We are launching a campaign to restore and revive the legacy of an unsung hero and patriot of the American Revolutionary War - OSCAR MARION. We started this journey with a program entitled, "Identifying Images and Icons in Art: A Treasure Hunt" where we began identifying this unknown and unidentified image in several famous historical oil paintings in fine museums and art collections around the country.
